Top: Borrowed from sister 🙂
I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! I’m back from a mini vacation and spent the day trying to cross things off my to-do list. A few quick snapshots of what I wore today…a pretty blouse, oxfords and sailor inspired shorts that had me wanting to shout “Ahoy!” allllll day. Yeah…I would….
Vest: Forever 21 (Shop this in my closet HERE)
Memorial day weekend is finally here! A weekend I wait all year for as
it signals the start of summer: warm weather, late sunsets, bbq’s and iced
coffee:] One piece of clothing mandatory for this monumental weekend? A little
white dress, or LWD. Unfortunately, when perusing my closet yesterday for
my very own LWD, I only came across one. The problem? It’s 4 years old and
makes me look like I’m 12. How is this the only LWD I own, when it is such a summer
staple?? Rather than forego wearing my LWD to usher in summer, I added a denim
crochet vest, Minnetonka fringe moccasin boots and lots of jewelry for an
updated look from 2008 to 2012.
So, what I’m craving now?! A new LWD. Prerequisites? Light, flowy and perfect for any summer outing.
Sugar in Your Tea
I love the shape of this dress and the lavender tones!
Bicycle Path Dress
Yes, it’s cream, but I would make an exception for those sweet shoulder ties and rosette skirt.
From Nasty Gal
This tank dress is perfect! A slightly hi-lo skirt with tiered layers.
El Matador Dress
Obsessed with this floaty little number and the open shoulders.
Dolce Vita Olie Dress
It might not be flowy, but this shift dress makes up for it with the adorable crochet flowers.
Emmanuelle Dress in Flow
Obsessed with this dress. The watercolor print adds the perfect touch.
Which one would you choose??
Button Up: Thrifted
Jeans: Forever21 (I have my eye on THESE Hudson’s)
Bag: Nine West
Shoes: Target (find HERE and adore THESE…must purchase!)
Yesterday was a boyfriend chic sort of day. There is just
something about looking as if you dressed straight out of your boyfriend’s
closet. I paired this larger button up with mint skinnies (obsessed!) and
wedges for a feminine touch.
Inspiration: Who wouldn’t want to borrow clothes from this hunk?!
Tank: American Eagle (find HERE)
Jeans: American Eagle (find HERE)
Oxfords: Wanted (purchased from Lulu’s but recently noticed you can purchase at Delia’s in a variety of colors)
Ring: Forever21(Adore this pink version HERE and this smaller, two flower version HERE)
Awhile back I posted about searching for a classic blazer. I am happy to report that I have succeeded! I purchased this little black number from Nordstroms and it has become one of my staples. Yesterday, I threw it on over a plain tank and skinny jeans to create a more sophisticated look for running errands. The lace oxfords definitely added the perfect touch to complete this outfit :]
