Wedding Week: Pinspiration

The first thing I did when I got engaged?? Headed over to pinterest and started pinning my little heart out! I was overwhelmed as I sifted through pin after pin of the big details (venues) to every small inch (how to arrange utensils). I would see something, and think “OMG! I HAVE to do that!” but 5 minutes later find a pin of the same thing, but arranged or styled differently and automatically change my mind!

Don’t get me wrong, Pinterest is one of the greatest things ever created! I came across so many cute details to include in my wedding that I would have never thought up were it not for Pinterest. However, Pinterest can have a dark side. My mind was going a million different ways with all of the different options that it was stressing me out! I had to remind myself to take a step back and reevaluate.

If I had to give you any advice, when it comes to Pinterest remember that it’s your day! Pin your heart out and go crazy with pinspiration, but remember that your wedding is ultimately a day of sharing you and your future hubby’s love. People are not going to care if you pin-inspired craft doesn’t turn out exactly like the pin on your pin board! It’s a reflection of you and your special person’s love and THAT will be ultimately what they take away and remember!

With that being said, check out a few of my favorite pins that (loosely) inspired my wedding! And no, I still haven’t perfected my perfect chalkboard writing for my signs…but hey, that’s okay!

The day after our wedding my husband and I said repeatedly that there was nothing about the event that we would have done differently. Every aspect of this place was perfection. Wedding venue in Los Angeles was everything we hoped for – and more.

Oh my gosh my best friend and I were JUST talking about this! We're going to start new boards when we get married of what we actually want! My boyfriend and I are close to getting engaged, and everytime we talk about it it's something totally different!
    This was great advice!

    Such beautiful inspiration.
I love weddings and have a few wedding boards myself and I am not even engaged so that's kind of embarrassing.

So, is it sad that I have a wedding Pinterest board and I'm not even engaged? Love looking at some amazing wedding inspiration! The paper lanterns and the chalkboard are definitely getting a repin!

These pins are making me SO excited for your wedding! I have a "Wedding" board on Pinterest and it (sadly) has the most pins out of all of my boards, haha!

I can definitely understand the dark side of Pinterest when it comes to wedding planning. I think it would add so much pressure for everything to completely perfect but in reality it will be perfect no matter how your chalk writing looks because it is the day you get to celebrate forever with your best friend. Even the most horrible writing couldn't mess that up! (:

Such beautiful inspiration for you and your fiance's special day. I am not going to lie…I have two wedding boards…one for general wedding things that I love and one secret board for myself that I actually want for my wedding one day. Pinterest is so great, but makes us feel bad if it isn't going to be as Pinterest perfect as it should be!

I adore these pins and Pinterest as a whole of course. My wedding board is definitely filled with some great pins. Now I just gotta find the boyfriend to go with them lol. I have been loving following your wedding journey this week.

Followed! I'm obsessed with planning my (very far in the future) wedding on Pinterest!

Oh wow! These pins are GORGEOUS! My cousin got married recently, and her sister was talking about how Pinterest didn't exist when she got married and how drastically different the weddings were. I love it for inspiration, but I agree that it can be hard to stay grounded while pinning!
