A Black Maxi for Every Season

We are half way through August and fall is just around the corner. Despite the new season being so close, it is still SO hot! Shopping this time of year can be hard because there are tons of cute new fall arrivals, but the temps need to drop a good 40 degrees to wear them! Lately, I have been on the hunt for pieces I can wear now and transition into cooler weather…bonus points if I can also wear it in the classroom!

The past few seasons, I have been perusing the Walmart site and finding the cutest options to update my wardrobe. I love that I can find clothing I feel good in, is flattering, and doesn’t break the bank! Walmart’s newest campaign, We Dress America, aligns with those same sentiments, offering clothing this is on trend, unique, inclusive and affordable.

One of my favorite recent purchases from Walmart is this black maxi. This is the ultimate maxi as it’s super flattering, has a sweet ruffle detailing and a sightly high lo hem line so it’s great for any height! The best part about this dress though? It’s a closet staple that can be worn from season to season.

Outfit 1: Dress // Bag // Sandals

I’ve been wearing this maxi now with sandals. It’s so easy breezy and is one of those pieces that can be thrown on and dressed up or down. It’s great for a day at the lake or a dinner date with the boo.

Outfit 2: Dress // Jacket // Sneakers

Pair this dress with a denim jacket and some sneaks and you’ve got an effortless weekend look. This combo is something I will wear on the weekends or in the classroom on a Friday! On another note, this denim jacket is another great closet staple! I love the wash of this one and the minimal distressing!

Outfit 3: Dress // Cardigan // Belt // Similar Booties // Bag

This is how I plan on wearing this maxi this fall in the classroom! Belted and topped off with a cardigan! This belt is a great, low key way to try out the snake print trend. I then added a cardigan for an extra layer and to dress things up a bit. This one is SO SOFT! Swap a lighter weight cardi out for something heavier as the temps drop.
