Happy Spring!

Anybody else so excited that winter is officially over?? I’ve been counting down the days! I’ve officially packed away my winter things and swapped them for my favorite spring and summer pieces! Unfortunately, the weather doesn’t just warm up overnight, so I still have to be aware of those chilly spring days! This sweater was such a great purchase for spring and I have already worn it too many times to count! I love how oversized it is and know I can tuck it in to jeans or denim shorts this summer! It’s ridiculously soft too! I paired it with white jeans, some super cute statement earrings, and my favorite suede lace-up wedges. I can already tell that these are going to get a ton of wear! I love the lace-up detailing, but most importantly they are REALLY comfortable!

PS I’ve been doing a little spring cleaning and have added a ton of new or gently used clothing to my instagram closet account, @shoptgscloset.

Fringe and Turquoise

Top: Forever 21 (runs big, wearing a size XS) // Jeans: Similar //

Necklace: Bauble Bar (comes in 4 colors!) // Bag: Rebecca Minkoff // Boots: Nordstrom BP ‘Trolley’ // Sunnies: Ray-Ban

Forever 21 used to be my spot. In my late high school/early college years I literally bought everything from there. As I got older, I started to realize that that wasn’t the best strategy as the pieces tended to be pretty trendy and didn’t have the best closet life. Just because they are cheap, doesn’t mean you need to spend absolutely all of your shopping budget on it (hello 16 year old me). Of course I didn’t completely stop shopping there, I would stop in every once in a while to peruse, but didn’t spend too much time and never bought more then a few basic things.

I have recently re-discovered my love for Forever 21, but age has made me a much wiser F21 shopper. For one, I am no longer adding 10 things at a time to my online cart. This has only resulted in some pretty terrible purchases in the past, including pieces I never even took the tags off of (hello, floral, velvet, body-con, one sleeve dress…yeah, what was I thinking?!). I have started browsing the new arrivals section and thinking about all of the different ways I can wear something before just adding it to my cart. Taking the time to think about pieces, means that I end up with about 3-4 items in my cart that are all pieces I will wear multiple ways.

This top was one that didn’t jump out to me at first. I think it took browsing over it twice for me to really look at it. I fell in love with the fun fringe and slightly boxy, cropped cut. I spent about 3 minutes tops imagining about 5 different ways to wear it and into my cart it went.

Casual Saturday

Sweater: Nordstrom // Necklace: Bauble Bar // Jeans: Similar distressed denim options here // Booties: Nordstrom BP ‘Trolley’ // Sunglasses: Ray-ban // Bag: Rebecca Minkoff //

Some variation of this outfit has been my go to for the past few weeks. It’s that weird time of year where you never know what the weather is going to be like. It’s not really cold enough to wear lots of layers, but it’s still too chilly to wear open toe shoes (although I did wear them once this weekend when temps reached 60!) or short sleeve t-shirts. My compromise is a cozy sweater and rolled jeans with booties, trading a warm scarf for a statement necklace.

This y-chain necklace is one of my most worn pieces. It goes with everything and I am in love with the turquoise. It comes in 4 colors and is currently on sale for less than $50!

I am linking up a few of my favorite sweaters for Spring below! My favorite though? Anything with a side split hem!

Happy Wednesday!
Spring is slowly creeping up on us, and my wardrobe is feeling rejuvenated! I’ve been pulling out some of my favorite pieces from last Spring and Summer (these jeans!) and layering my winter finds less and less! This lightweight peplum top was a piece I picked up in December before my trip to California. I’ve been wearing it all Winter long, just layered under heavy sweaters and jackets. I was so excited to bring it out this weekend for a lunch date with E and NOT wear a sweater over it. Ipaired it with my new favorite necklace (last seen here) and a floppy hat for a boho inspired look!
