So I’m posting this little blue dress today, and I could tell you about how much I adore it and how well it fits, like I had planned, but I just erased all of that because I have to share what’s really on my mind.
This weekend, my family’s sweet dog, Bentley, was hit by a car and he did not make it. My family has been absolutely devastated by the loss of him. Isn’t it crazy how a little animal can make such an impact on your life? I know it may seem silly, but he truly was a family member. He had the best personality and I am going to miss him so much. I feel broken hearted over knowing I won’t see his sweet underbite or big brown eyes again and am repeatedly going over “what if” scenarios in my mind. I know that I am just grieving and that eventually I won’t feel this terrible sadness, but it’s so hard!! All dog’s go to Heaven, right?
Have any of you lost a pet? Any tips for dealing with the grief of losing your furry, 4-legged friend?
What do you do when it’s fall and still 80 degrees?? You wear something light and breezy in fall shades of course! Just when I thought the weather was cooling down, it heats up again to the 80’s. It makes wearing fall clothing some what impossible, as layering scarfs and sweaters only makes for a sweltering day. However, the forecast is calling for dropping temps in the next few days, so maybe fall weather really is just around the corner!
You know I’m a true summer girl, so I really don’t mind the warm days! This little dress was the perfect transition dress as it has a fun print with a good mix of cool and warm colors! I paired it with a maroon floppy hat and my all time favorite booties. I swear I wear these booties more than any other shoe in my closet! They recently just re-stocked them, so I definitely recommend getting a pair!
This week’s blogger of the week from last week’s link up is Mae of Mae Amor! I am in absolute love with Mae’s look from head to toe! She looks so chic in in printed blouse and grey mules (can I add these to my wardrobe ASAP?!). This is an outfit I will be repeating ASAP! Such a wonderful fall look, Mae!
This look features a few of my fall essentials! In the cooler months, when I don’t know what to wear, I always gravitate towards a plaid button down and a pair of booties! It’s a fool-proof outfit that can easily be dressed up or down depending on the the bottoms you pair with it! Pair it with some black skinnies and a statement necklace?? Instant chic! Want a more laid-back, casual look? Jeans it is! There really is nothing better than a good, cozy plaid button down!

I am so excited that Friday is just around the corner! I have been relishing in lazy weekends spent lounging around, catching up on blog things and eating good food since starting school again. Weekends are so necessary to refresh and re-charge before heading back into a new week, and I am definitely learning to soak up every last minute of them!
In the meantime, the weather here is just now starting to show signs of fall. The temp’s really haven’t budged from the high 90’s to low 80’s range, but today there was a chill in the air. I have been wearing my white jeans a lot lately (I don’t believe in the no white after labor day rule!) and was so excited to get this Show Me Your Mumu Peta tunic from Rumor Boutique to pair with them! This top has got to be one of my new favorites for how flowy and comfortable it is. I can’t wait to wear it in a few weeks with black skinnies and tall boots for a more fall-esque look!

This week’s blogger of the week from last week’s link-up is Pamela of Sequins and Sea Breezes! I’m loving Pamela’s adorably casual outfit that is perfect for the current weather! While fall is just around the corner, it’s still hot outside! Pamela is ready for high temp’s but dressed in fall colors of deep red and and browns. This is definitely an outfit that could be transitioned for the fall by swapping out the denim shorts of jeans and adding a cozy sweater or jacket! Thanks for the inspo, girl!
