White Crochet Dress

Dress: Shein c/o // Boots: Sam Edelman ‘Paige’ in Putty // Hat: Wool Floppy Hat (under $25!) // Bag: Tory Burch ‘Perry’ Tote //

 Hello white after labor day!

Anybody else all for breaking that silly rule??

I am a strong believer that white should be worn year round. There really is nothing better than a crisp white dress whether summer or fall! This option is perfectly boho and I immediately became obsessed with the crochet detailing and wide sleeves. I can definitely see myself wearing this with OTK boots when it get’s cooler, and with wedges in the summertime!

Checkered Dress: Look 2 – Weekend

Jacket: Gentle Fawn ‘Intrepid’ Jacket c/o // Dress: Sweetest Stitch ‘Lovely Look’ Dress c/o  //

Boots: BP ‘Trolley’ Booties // Hat: Nordstrom // Bag: Deux Lux ‘Mae Hobo’ c/o // Ring: Kendra Scott// Necklace: Taudrey ‘Mini Coin Pineapple Necklace’ c/o //

You might remember seeing this dress a few weeks ago when I showed you how I wore it to work (here). There’s nothing like a versatile dress that you can style for work and the weekend!  A checkered dress is a fun and easy print to mix and match for different occasions. This option from Sweetest Stitch is easily one of my favorites. The shirtdress style makes it flattering and easy to wear and you can’t go wrong with black and white! For a Friday night date night, I paired it with an easy trench, my go to booties and of course a hat!

 Hello friends!

First off, I want to thank you for your support and sweet messages on yesterday’s post. It honestly was so helpful reading how many of you have gone through the process of the death of a pet, and how difficult it can be losing a furry, four legged family member. They are definitely one of a kind creatures with their own individual personalities that are irreplaceable.

On a happier note, I was so excited to find these pictures from our mini-moon in early August that I forgot to share! E and I went to Victoria, Canada and had an amazing time sightseeing and enjoying lots of wonderful food (poutine anyone?!). The weather ended up being chillier than I anticipated, so I ended up practically living in this scarf while we were there. This is one of the only days I actually looked decent, as the rest I was completely bundled in whatever I could possibly put on.

If you’ve never been to Victoria, I definitely recommend it! I have never eaten so much good food in my life! The sites were beautiful, and we enjoyed just strolling around the city and riding the water taxi’s across the harbor. I can’t wait to return!

Little Blue Dress + Dealing with Grief

Dress: c/o Shein // Hat: David & Young via Nordstroms  // Boots: BP ‘Trolley’ Ankle Booties // Bag: Sole Society – old (linked similar options below!) //

So I’m posting this little blue dress today, and I could tell you about how much I adore it and how well it fits, like I had planned, but I just erased all of that because I have to share what’s really on my mind.

This weekend, my family’s sweet dog, Bentley, was hit by a car and he did not make it. My family has been absolutely devastated by the loss of him. Isn’t it crazy how a little animal can make such an impact on your life? I know it may seem silly, but he truly was a family member. He had the best personality and I am going to miss him so much. I feel broken hearted over knowing I won’t see his sweet underbite or big brown eyes again and am repeatedly going over “what if” scenarios in my mind. I know that I am just grieving and that eventually I won’t feel this terrible sadness, but it’s so hard!! All dog’s go to Heaven, right?

Have any of you lost a pet? Any tips for dealing with the grief of losing your furry, 4-legged friend?
