The holiday season is here and with it comes all of the holiday festivities! Unfortunately, the holiday season also means COLD. It’s been freezing outside lately, making getting dressed a little more difficult. I want to look cute and festive, without sacrificing warmth this holiday season! When shopping, I’ve been looking for winter basics with a twist. Pieces that are easy to layer, cozy and warm, but also have a unique touch that makes them stand out! One of my go to’s for basics with a twist is the Topshop brand at Nordstrom! They carry my favorite closet basics, but always put a unique spin on them! I also love their on trend pieces that are easy to wear but still make a statement! One of the reasons I love shopping at Nordstrom, is because they carry the brand I love, like Topshop! It’s always easy to find what I’m looking for!

This Topshop cardigan sweater is a gorgeous shade of green, making it perfect for the holidays! It’s an easy piece to dress up or down, but what really makes it unique is the fun balloon sleeves. This unique spin on a classic style makes for a stand out piece that makes a statement without being too over the top! Pair this over a black mini dress with heeled booties for a party or style it over jeans and a tee for a more laid back affair.

My tee, jeans and booties are other winter basics I’ve added to my wardrobe this season, that each have their own twist on a classic style! I’ve been living in this under $30 twist front tee! It’s the perfect basic for layering, but the twist at the front adds a pretty little detail that I love! This pair of denim is AMAZING. They fit like a glove, are slightly cropped (perfect if you are under 5’4) and are high waisted…a twist on classic denim that I hope is here to stay! It also doesn’t hurt that they are under $100! Last but not least, my new mule booties. Closed at the front and open at the back, this is a shoe I know I will be wearing all year long!

Faux Suede Shift Dress

Faux Suede Shift Dress c/o Poshsquare // Faux Leather Jacket // Leopard Clutch, look for less here and here // Similar booties // Bow Choker

Happy Monday!

Or should I say Happy Halloween! Monday is a lot sweeter when it lands on such a fun holiday! My plans for tonight include curling up under a blanket, watching a spooky movie and probably eating half of the candy meant for trick or treaters. I might even pull out my kitty cat or Minnie mouse ears because Halloween is the perfect excuse to dress up.

This rust colored shift dress would be the perfect piece to dress up for tonight. I can already envision how cute this ensemble would be with kitty ears! The perfect Halloween outfit for someone who wants to get in to the spirit on a low-key level. It comes in 4 colors and is under $50 and I’m already imagining how many ways I will wear it over the next few months! I plan on sharing another way I love to wear it next week!

Flirty Red Dress

Red Dress c/o Chicwish // Sam Edelman Sandals // Clare V. Clutch // 3-Disc Necklace

There is nothing better than a little red dress. There is just something about a bright red number that boosts my confidence and makes me feel like a million bucks. I was never a huge fan of red, but recently fell in love when I discovered the confidence boosting powers this fierce color can hold.

This little red number is the ultimate LRD. It’s off the shoulder, but what I adore most are the flirty frilly details around the neck and shoulders. I’ve been loving simpler styling, with minimalistic jewelry and love that this dress looks fabulous with just a printed clutch and a pair of lace up sandals. This is definitely my new date night dress!

Turtlenecks + Winter White

Sweater: Nordstrom (on sale!) // Pants: Similar here // Shoes: Nordstrom // Clutch: Clare V. //

Two of my favorite trends this winter? Chunky knit turtlenecks and winter white! Who says you can’t wear white after labor day?? I have been keeping my white skinnies on rotation all winter long and know they will continue to be a wardrobe staple of mine throughout the year. A great pair of white skinnies is an essential piece to any wardrobe! Another staple? A good turtleneck sweater. Turtlenecks are no longer a wardrobe faux-pas, but rather a chic winter statement that will keep you warm even on the chilliest days!

This weeks blogger of the week from last weeks linkup is Riva of Riva La Diva. Riva’s dress is gorgeous, but the best part about it? She MADE it! This is a new blogger I am so happy to have discovered! Riva’s blog is filled with DIY gold. So many amazing outfits and accessories paired with step by step instructions for how to make it yourself! Definitely a blogger you will want to check out!
