Essential Fall Boots

This time of year, you can usually find a pair of boots on my feet. From booties to rain boots, there is something out there for any type of weather or any occasion in the fall and winter.  However, there are a few pairs I find myself reaching for most frequently. I truly believe there are 4 pairs EVERY girl needs in her wardrobe. Staples that will get you through the chilly months!

Cognac Booties

My cognac booties are my most frequently worn boots. These actually get a lot of wear year round, as I love them with jeans and chunky layered knits in the fall and winter, and with breezy dresses in the spring and summer. They go with EVERYTHING and are so easy to wear. I have a few different styles, including leather and suede, because I wear them so frequently. They can be easily dressed up or down and taken from work to date night!

Riding Boots

A great pair of riding boots never go out of style! I love wearing mine in the fall with dresses and skirts. When it gets REALLY cold, I find myself reaching for my riding boots more frequently as I can wear my favorite thick knit socks underneath and have cozy toes all day. I recommend spending more than you typically would on a pair of shoes when buying riding boots. You want something comfortable and high quality with a classic look, because I promise you will be wearing them for the next few years!

Rain Boots

This fall has been especially rainy and I have been SO thankful for my rain boots! These cuties aren’t just handy when it’s rainy. I frequently pull mine on when heading out to rake the leaves or keep them in my classroom for those days when the weather turns nasty before the end of day bell rings. These also work well in the snow, just make sure to buy the fleece inserts to make sure your feet stay warm!

Over the Knee Boots

This has been one of the hottest trends for a few years now, leading me to believe they are here to stay for at least a few more years! I love the OTK style because they are cute AND keep my legs warm! My favorite way to wear mine is with dresses or with jeans and oversized sweaters. There are so many cute options out right now…I am currently on the hunt for the perfect pair of black OTK boots to add to my wardrobe!

If you haven’t noticed, I have been LOVING winter white lately. I mentioned in yesterday’s post that this January was feeling a little dreary, and I noticed that wearing white works as a mini mood booster! It’s a reminder that warm weather is just around the corner!

I wore a very similar outfit last week, and loved it so much that I just couldn’t help but recreate it this week! I LOVE this turtleneck sweater SO much that I bought it in a few colors. It has been one of my winter staples and I have mixed and matched these sweet little sweaters quite a few different ways.

One thing at the top of my lust list? A pair of Stuart Weitzman over the knee boots… a girl can dream, right? I didn’t want to splurge as I wasn’t sure how much I would wear them, and when this pair came highly recommended, I couldn’t help but snatch them up. It’s definitely the look for less as these boots look so similar to the more pricey option! I’ve gotten a ton of wear out of them and definitely recommend! Maybe next year I will splurge on a pair of Weitzman’s or be so good all year that Santa will leave them under the tree for me next year… 🙂 but for now these will do JUST fine!

 Happy Tuesday!

Anybody else dreaming of turkey and pumpkin pie?? I’m counting down the days until Thanksgiving!

This dress is a contender for Thanksgiving festivities. I love the fall floral pattern and the flowy shape which is perfect as it allows you to eat as much as you want!

I picked these boots up after Mk of The Gold Hatted Lover raved about them! I was looking for a pair of OTK boots but didn’t want to spend a fortune as I wasn’t sure how much I would wear them. I am happy to report that these have quickly become my all time favorite boots and are great quality! They are definitely a great dupe for a pricier option and I recommend them 100% if you are looking for something in this style! I will be picking up the black soon!

Fall Uniform

Poncho: Boutique, lots of great options here // Top: Old, similar here and here  // Leggings: Similar here // Boots: Available here // Bag: Tory Burch // Necklace: Bauble Bar //

I have worn some variation of this combo at least twice a week this fall (evidence here and here). It’s such an easy outfit that’s cute, comfy and warm and has quickly become my uniform for fall! Start with a base of black leggings and a solid long sleeve and top it off with a poncho. I picked up this fun aztec print at a boutique a few months back, but have linked some of my favorite printed options below!
