Happy Tuesday!  I can’t believe it’s already mid-July! Summer is flying by and fall will be here before we know it! I’ve spent a lot of time at the lake, soaking up all the summer rays I can. I definitely live my best life in the summertime!

On another note, have you been shopping the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale?! I have placed a few orders and am still waiting on the rest of my packages to arrive so I can share a review of my purchases. One of my favorite sale purchases thus far has to be this little shift dress. I got it late Friday and even though I was already dressed for date night, I had to change JUST so I could wear this sweet little number. At under $35 this is a versatile piece to have in your wardrobe as it will transition perfectly into the colder months. I can definitely see this being one of my go to work dresses because it is so easy to layer! I wore it for date night with a denim jacket tied around my waist and my new favorite platform sandals (not part of the sale, but reasonably priced and super comfortable!). I love that it can be dressed up or down, and would pair it with these open toe mules and maybe a leather jacket for a night out! This dress is also PERFECT for the classroom! Just layer it up with a cardi and booties (as pictured below – all items from Nsale!), and in the winter, I could easily see myself pairing this with leggings and riding boots!

School Days: Checkered Dress – Look 1

 Today I am sharing a work look with you! This dress from the Sweetest Stitch is the perfect little shift dress! I love the checkered print and that it is button down with a tie at the waist! I wore it to work recently with some comfortable flats and bright earrings to add a pop of color. The thing I love most about this dress is how easily it transitions from the classroom to the weekend, which I will show you later this week!

 This summer, I have added quite a few little shift dresses to my wardrobe! There is something so easy about these dresses, as they are effortless and a breezy way to beat the heat! I have really been looking for ones with longer hemlines so I can wear them the first few weeks back to school. I am definitely planning on repeating this outfit (minus the hat) when I meet my new first graders!
This option from Antique Garden has the cutest print and cutouts in the front and the back. I have been obsessed with Antique Garden lately! They currently have the cutest pieces for fall that really have me excited for chillier weather!

Floral Shift Dress

Anybody remember that feeling of finding your first day of school outfit? Back to school shopping was always my favorite time of year, and I got practically giddy as I laid out what I would be wearing that very first day back, even if it was a few weeks…or a month in advance. Being a teacher, I still get to have a “first day of school” outfit and I’m not going to lie, I LOVE it. When I tried on this Antique Garden shift dress, I had that same feeling I used to get when I was younger…this is the one! It may be a month and a half in advance, but I will definitely be wearing this sweet printed shift when the first bell of the year rings in September! 

Please tell me I’m not the only one who picks/picked out first day of school outfits so far in advance!
