Spring Shoes with Nordstrom

Get the Look

Sweater // Denim // Sandals // Sunglasses // Bag

The weather has been warming up, and I’ve been living for quick walks through the neighborhood (while practicing social distancing of course) and soaking up the sunshine in my backyard. Current events have given me SO much perspective.

With all the uncertainty in the world, I’ve taken to celebrating the positive. I’m enjoying the little things, like extra time to enjoy my coffee in the morning, mid-day walk breaks with my husband and pup and more time to read. I’ve also been living with the mantra that bright days ARE ahead. While we weather this storm together, remember that sunshine (both figuratively and literally) is headed our way, friends.

I’ve been appreciating the changes a new season brings more than ever before. This could be because I have way too much time on my hands to take it in. One silly little thing I LOVE about this time of year is going sock-less. Yes, I told you, totally silly, but something I usually take for granted. How glorious is it to finally be able to trade out stuffy boots and socks for bare feet and sandals?

I recently picked up some new spring shoes from Nordstrom that I’m so excited about. I’ve actually taken to wearing them around the house and for our short walk breaks through the neighborhood. Nordstrom is always the first place I look when shopping for a new season. They carry the brands I love, have new arrivals daily and free shipping and returns which makes ordering online so easy. I am also extremely impressed with their customer service and how they are handling recent events (read about their efforts here), by closing all physical stores, remaining open online and still providing an amazing customer service experience.

My favorite and most worn pair of sandals for spring and summer are my Tory Burch Miller sandals. I actually ended up snagging a new pair this year because mine were so worn! I’ve never found a more comfortable, practical flip flop that can be dressed up or down and goes with everything!

Spring Staples with Walmart

Spring is approaching and I could not be more ready! I can’t wait for warm weather! I’ve slowly started to transition my wardrobe into the next season. Today I am sharing some pieces to wear now and into spring with Walmart!

Jacket // Overalls // Striped Tee // Sneakers

Year after year, I get so excited for spring that I start wanting to dress for warmer weather.  The problem? The actual warmer temps haven’t arrived yet. I’ve found that buying pieces that I can wear now and into spring is the best way to go! I always look for fresh closet staples that can be layered up and layered down when the temps finally do warm up!

From season to season, Walmart has been one of the first places I look for freshening up my wardrobe! They carry everything from staples to on trend pieces with prices that don’t break the bank! I love that I can score budget friendly options without sacrificing style!

The pieces I snagged in my last Walmart order are some of my favorites to date! First up, this jacket is AMAZING! I think it’s such a cute find and a closet staple for any season! It comes in 3 colors and has the cutest slightly cropped fit. This is one that will take me from work to the weekend and the $23 price tag is pretty great too!

If you’ve followed me for awhile, you know I love a great pair of overalls. These have a slight boyfriend fit and I love the minimal distressing. I am 5’3 and these are the PERFECT cropped length on me! I love wearing them now with a sweater and booties and sneaks and a tee in the spring.

Speaking of tee’s, this one is a winner. Amazing quality, naturally oversized and under $7. I ordered it in a few different colors in mediums and smalls. Honestly, I like both sizing options! The size up is a bit boxier and oversized. I will report back on how they wash up!

Essential Little T-shirt Dress & 5 Ways to Wear It

T-Shirt Dress // Quilted Slip On Shoes // Tote Bag

Yesterday was the FIRST day we had sunshine in some time. It was a nice reminder that spring is FINALLY just around the corner. This has been the longest winter ever with more snow than we have had in a long time. I am ready to trade my layers and winter boots for sandals and dresses!

Speaking of dresses, I found the essential little t-shirt dress when shopping for spring pieces. A good t-shirt dress is one of my spring and summer staples. Not only are they comfortable but they are easy to transition from chilly spring days to a hot summer night. As a teacher, a t-shirt dress is also a MUST for the comfort and ease it offers.

This little striped number from Ellen DeGeneres’ EV1 Collection at Walmart is a perfect piece to take from the classroom to the weekend and is so versatile (see all the ways to style it below). It has just the right amount of stretch and is SO comfy! I love the length, which isn’t too short for work and is just long enough to knot the hem…a trend I love! The subtle heart patch on the front adds a sweet, unique touch. The whole EV1 collection at Walmart is SO cute. Easy pieces to mix, match and layer with fun prints that pop for spring!
