Classroom Style: The Perfect Back to School Dress

Floral Dress // Mules // Similar Tote

Today is the first day of school! I can’t believe this is my 4th year of teaching 1st grade! I also can’t believe that summer vacation is officially over…where does the time go?

My goal for this year is to share more of my work looks with you. My plan is to share at least 1 look every two weeks under the title Classroom Style.

Today’s look is my first day of school outfit. One thing I love about teaching is that I get to go back to school shopping every year. Growing up I looked forward to BTS shopping everyyyy year. I loved picking out my first day of school outfit and surprise, surprise, still do! I love stocking up on easy dresses for this time of year, when it’s still too hot to wear pants. The moment I saw this one, I knew it would be the perfect 1st day dress. I love the floral print, flowy sleeves and ruffle hem!

I bought these mules during the Nordstrom Sale after I wore my first pair to work all spring! These are the BEST shoes for the classroom as they are so comfortable and go with everything! I’m still undecided if I will wear these today or opt for a pair of espadrille sandals…there isn’t much time left to wear sandals!

Striped Eyelet Trim Top & a Giveaway!

Top c/o // Similar Shorts Here and Here // Rebecca Minkoff Bag // Karen Walker Sunnies // Pearl Slide Sandals – $25 Dupes

School starts WEDNESDAY and while I am ready to get back to a routine and my new class of kiddos, I will definitely miss summer! From lazy summer mornings, enjoying my coffee and reading a good book to wearing my favorite easy summer attire, it’s definitely hard letting this summer season end!

Lately I’ve been shopping for pieces that I can wear now and transition for fall and heading back to work. I have been LOVING this top. The stripes and eyelet detailing make for the cutest combo! I’ve been wearing it with shorts, but plan on wearing it with white and olive denim once school starts.

Good Vibes

Good Vibes Tee // Levi’s Shorts // Soludos Espadrilles // Moo’s Shop Beach Tote c/o

A pair of cutoffs and a fun graphic tee makes for the perfect casual summer outfit. This is my go to ensemble for running errands, weekend bbq’s and road trips to the lake. I can’t even tell you how often I wear this tee. Not only is it super comfy, but it’s got a pretty good message on it. Good vibes only!

This tote is from Moo’s Shop, my latest obsession. Mary Joan, the owner of Moo’s, makes the most gorgeous straw beach bags, clutches, and tassels. I love that I can take this bag from the beach to running errands. It’s the perfect size! It also comes in a ton of other colors! Next time I go on vacation, I will definitely be picking up another piece from Moo’s shop, like this fun clutch

Sending plenty of good vibes your way as you head into a new week!

3 Tops to Update Your Wardrobe for Fall

Look 1Lace Cami // Similar Cardigan // Jeans (under $60!) // Similar Options here and here // Pearl Sandals

Look 2 –  Lace Up Tee // Jeans // Laser Cut Cross Body Bag // Slide Sandals

Look 3Ruffle Bell Sleeve Top // Jeans // Metal Ring Bag // Mules

New fall arrivals have been hitting online stores, giving me the itch to shop, but while fall is just around the corner, it’s still over 100 degrees here! This makes wearing those new fall goodies just about impossible, unless you are up for sweating in your new sweater and boot combos! When browsing the new arrivals section at Nordstrom, I’ve been looking for pieces that I can wear now and transition easily into fall. Nordstrom has by far the best selection of trendy yet affordable items, and they get new arrivals DAILY. I recently picked up three tops and I don’t have to wait for the weather to change to wear them! They are the perfect pieces to wear now and in the fall and all three are under $50!

Lace Cami – This gorgeous lace cami is under $30 and comes in 4 colors. It’s the perfect little tank to wear to date night on a hot summer night, but will be easy to transition to colder weather by pairing it with a cardi. My favorite way to wear a lacy cami in the fall and winter is paired with a pullover sweater so just a little lace peeks out!

Lace Up Tee – The lace up trend was huge last year and it looks like it’s here to stay! This tee give off “cool girl” vibes with it’s deep v lace up and grommet detailing. It’s only $32 and comes in 6 great colors. Wear it now with shorts and layer it up in the fall. The lace up detailing gives a little something extra to your cardi and tee combo!

Ruffle Bell Sleeve Top – Ruffles and bell sleeves? Yes please! This top has perfect flirty sleeves and a fun lace up detailing in the back. It’s lightweight enough that you can wear it now, but pair it with jeans, boots and a draped vest (like this one) in the fall!
