Today’s post is up a little later than usual! E and I spent yesterday at the lake and on our way home we had to stop and get burgers and fries (“had to” being the keyword here!). After a day spent in the sun and with full bellies we basically went to bed as soon as we got home. It was a successful Sunday! 

Today I am sharing one of my FAVORITE laid back looks! The peplum trend has been around for some time and has become one of my closet staples. I have a few peplum tops that I have on repeat. I love that it takes a basic tee or tank and gives it a fun, more feminine spin! This hi-lo option from Nell and Rose has become one of my favorites. This is one of those MUST HAVE pieces because not only is it super soft and comfortable, but the hi-lo hem makes this piece perfect for wearing with leggings and the color is super versatile…it goes with everything! I’ve already worn this piece a ton…with shorts, leggings and jeans, and have found it is easy to dress up or down. I will definitely be layering this with a cardi and wearing it to work come fall!

I am a huge fan of stripes…but really, who isn’t?! The moment I saw this little striped number I was sold! The tassels at the bottom give a unique twist making this cutie a fun summer dress. It also doesn’t hurt that it’s just $10. Yes, TEN DOLLARS!!

Happy Monday! Did you enjoy your weekend? E and I went to dinner and a movie on Friday night. We saw Baby Driver and if you are looking for a good date night movie I highly recommend! E and I BOTH really enjoyed it. It definitely kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time! Saturday was a pretty chill day spent around the house. Sunday, E and I headed up to the lake for a day date where we ate the most delicious pizza and played a round of mini golf. I have to say I am enjoying every minute of my summer vacation! 


On another note, have you been shopping the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale?! I have placed a few orders and am still waiting on the rest of my packages to arrive so I can share a review of my purchases. In the meantime, check out some of my sale favorites and top selling must have items. 


One of my favorite sale purchases thus far has to be this little slip dress. I got it late Friday and even though I was already dressed for date night, I had to change JUST so I could wear this sweet little number. At under $35 this is a versatile piece to have in your wardrobe as it will transition perfectly into the colder months. I can definitely see this being one of my go to work dresses because it is so easy to layer! This dress is under $35 and has adjustable straps! I wore it for date night with a denim jacket tied around my waist (needed this for the chilly movie theater!) and my favorite slides. When the weather gets cooler, I will layer it up with a scarf, cardi and booties (as pictured below – all items from Nsale!), and in the winter, I could easily see myself pairing this with leggings and riding boots!

Is there any print more perfect for summer than a palm print? I’ve been palm obsessed for awhile now, so the second I saw this sweet palm top from The Purple Door Boutique, I was sold. This flirty little number is made with the breeziest fabric making it perfect for the summertime heat! It’s the prettiest combo of pale pink and green, which I love (because of the sun it’s coming off more white!). I’ve worn this cutie with white denim shorts (as seen here!) and distressed denim, but plan on wearing it this weekend with a white skirt. If you are as palm print obsessed as I am, you will want to check out this gorgeous maxi (in the same print as my top!) and this fun little dress. I want to pack both for a vacation to the beach ASAP!
