Back to the Classroom with Walmart

I can’t believe that I will be back in the classroom in less than a month! Summer is slowly winding down, and while I am sad to see my favorite time of year come to a close, I crave the routine of the classroom. I also miss my kiddos! I love this time of year because it means back to school shopping. As a kid, I looked forward to buying new clothes for the school year all year long. It was my absolute favorite day of the year as we traveled to the big city (Seattle) and spent the day shopping. When we would get home, we stopped by my grandparents house and I gave them a fashion show of my finds, that were typically all WAY to0 warm to even wear until October.

Fast forward some years, and I still look forward to shopping for back to school, except this time as the teacher! I love finding ways to incorporate the season’s hottest trends into classroom appropriate outfits. I am always on the lookout for pieces that don’t break the bank, because let’s be real, back to school shopping for the teacher means way more than just picking up some snazzy new outfits. It also means outfitting our classroom with supplies that ensure a smooth school year.

The past few years, Walmart has become my one stop shop for back to school. Not only can I find the cutest on trend items to update my teacher wardrobe, but I can also pick up the essentials for my classroom ALL within my budget because of Walmart’s Everyday Low Price guarantee. To all my teacher friends out there, we ALL know how important it is to find low prices for a great value, #teachersalary. I want clothes that I feel good in, are flattering, on trend and affordable along with a classroom that feels prepared for the year to come and I can find all of that at Walmart!

Outfit 1: Snake Print Midi Skirt // T-shirt (comes in 2 pack – I sized up to a medium) // Denim Jacket // Backpack // Similar Booties

I am loving the snake skin print trend and LOVE the fit of this midi skirt! It’s under $20, comes in a ton of color and print options and has a super flattering fit. This is a great way to incorporate the popular animal print trend into your back to school wardrobe.  This skirt is a great length and is easy to move in. I paired it with my FAVORITE white tee and a denim jacket that’s under $20 as well. It’s made with a comfy, stretchy fabric so it’s not restricting at all…a necessity in the classroom! This backpack is a steal at under $25 and perfect for carrying the essentials to and from work. This will fit my small makeup bag, wallet and planner!

Outfit 2: Chambray Top // Black Pants // Leopard Slides // Bag

If you aren’t ready to go all in on the animal print trend, these leopard heeled slides add the perfect print pop. They have a low heel so they are easy to walk in and are comfortable enough to make it through a day on your feet. This little chambray top puts a cute spin on a classic! I love the tiered detailing and how easy this piece will be to transition from season to season. It comes in 4 color options. These black skinnys are a great work pant! They are high waisted and have a very flattering fit. They do run a bit small, I am wearing a 2.

Outfit 3: Leopard Dress // Belt // Similar Booties // Bag

If you love a good leopard print and are ready to go all in on the animal print trend, this dress is for you! This dress is a great length for the classroom. I am only 5’3 and some and would say this dress is almost too long on me, so I belted it to bring it up a bit. This dress has the cutest tunic/babydoll shape and tassel ties. It has a little shift dress liner, so you don’t need to worry about it being see through!

Summer Date Ready

This is the first year that my husband and I both have the summer off, and we are enjoying every minute of it. Dates are made that much better as we can leave on a whim and go from running errands to a patio dinner on the lake. I know it won’t always be like this, so I am savoring every minute of this special summer.

Because date nights (and day dates!!) have been happening frequently and on a whim, I have been looking for comfy cute dresses that are adaptable. This time of year, I also look for pieces that can transition into the next season and have been finding ALL the right options at Walmart!

The past few seasons, I have been perusing the Walmart site and finding the cutest options to update my wardrobe, whether it be for date night or the classroom. I love that I can find clothing I feel good in, is flattering, and doesn’t break the bank! Walmart’s newest campaign, We Dress America, aligns with those same sentiments, offering clothing this is on trend, unique, inclusive and affordable.

This midi dress came home with me the moment I saw it. This dress isn’t just comfy, it’s also super flattering and makes me feel like a million bucks with a very budget friendly price tag! This versatile piece can be dressed up or down, and has quickly become one of my go to’s! I love that I can pair it with sneakers and a denim jacket and am ready for whatever our day may hold! This dress can also be worn from season to season. Top it off with a sweater and some booties and you are ready for fall!

Summer Staples with Walmart

Hello Summer!

We’ve just about made it friends! My favorite season is days away and I can’t wait! I’m ready for all the summer activities paired with plenty of time for relaxing of course! It’s been a long school year and I am ready for a little R&R! I recently stopped in Walmart and picked up s0me pieces to refresh my summer wardrobe. I found SO many great items! Walmart has become one of my favorites for on trend pieces that don’t break the bank. I love that I can find budget friendly options without sacrificing style!  Check out my summer staple picks below and why I consider them staples!

Floral Kimono: This kimono is even prettier in person! I love the vibrant floral print, the crochet detailing at the top and the ruffle hem. What makes this piece a staple is that it can be thrown over anything! Pair it with jeans and a tee, shorts and a tank or over a dress. You can even wear this one over a swimsuit as a coverup! I love a multi-purpose piece!

White Tee: I bought this tee a few months ago and have been wearing it non-stop. Out of all the white tees I own (trust me, I’ve tried a lot!), this one is the best! I ended up snagging a two pack for under $10! I also sized up to a medium for an oversized fit and love that I can knot the front or tuck it in. A white tee is ALWAYS a closet staple and this one is a real winner!

Denim: This under $20 pair of jeans was a real surprise to me. I was not expecting to like them as much as I do. The fit is SO GOOD. These definitely remind me of one of my designer pairs. They have minimal distressing and are another staple that can be worn from season to season.

Sandals: These sandals aren’t just cute, they are really comfortable too! I’ve worn them all day in the classroom and that is always a testament to true comfort! The two tone straps add a fun touch, but are still neutral enough that they go with everything.

Bag: This bag is so cute and holds a surprising amount. A little woven bag is a must for summer! This one comes in three colors but I loved the blush pink. I’ve been pairing this with everything!

My summer vacation officially begins in 3 weeks. I am so ready for a little R&R in the summer sun! I’ve already started making plans for my time off, including a few trips and plenty of days at the lake! As a girl on the go this summer, my wardrobe will consist of lots of dresses, swimsuits and one of my new favorite trends…soft printed shorts! I’ve been eyeing all the pieces that are easy to throw on and go and are comfortable but cute enough to take me from long car rides to date night on the lake and I’ve found the BEST finds at Walmart!

The printed shorts trend is a trend I fully support…cute and comfy? Yes please! I ended up picking up multiple pairs at Walmart and have been living in them! This pair is incredibly soft and is great for lounging or traveling. I paired them with my favorite basic tee, a great denim jacket (size up for an oversized fit) and easy sandals for a weekend travel look. This weekender bag fits everything you need for a quick overnight getaway and is only $24!! For a casual date night look, I paired this belted pair with a flirty off the shoulder top and completed the look with the cutest round bag and espadrilles. These espadrilles have been one of my recent favorite purchases…they go with everything and are so comfortable!
