Statement Boots to Elevate your Winter Wardrobe

Winter officially begins in just a few days. I think Jack Frost got the memo early, as it’s already FREEZING. I’ve been living in all the coziest layers, softest knits and statement boots. Today I am sharing my favorite winter trend piece and a head to toe look from Walmart!

Cardigan // Pullover // Similar Denim // Scarf // Shearling Fold Over Boots

I am not a fan of winter. In fact, I absolutely hate being cold! However, I AM a fan of cute winter looks! I can totally get behind a chunky sweater and scarf combo! One trend I’ve been absolutely obsessed with lately is statement boots. When I feel like my outfit is more about wearing as many layers to stay warm, and less about being cute, I love adding a statement boot! From lace up detailing to sherpa lining, a statement boot can elevate any winter outfit!

One statement boot I have been wearing NON-STOP are these shearling fold over boots from Walmart. They come in 3 colors, are under $45  and are so comfortable! I love the chunky heel, sherpa lining and the fact that I can wear them rolled up or down. They are easy to dress up and down and comfortable enough to spend all day on my feet in the classroom.

Speaking of statement boots, Walmart has some KILLER options right now! This taller version of my boots looks so designer, but with a $50 price tag. I have these hiker boots in 2 colors because I love the lace up look, the shearling detailing and the memory foam sole! A great black bootie is a must have in winter, but this pair has a subtle croc look that totally elevates it!

Layering from Fall to Winter with Backcountry

Living in the Pacific Northwest, we get to fully experience all 4 seasons. It’s one of the reasons I love most about living in our small town. Fall transitions to winter slowly, but the temperatures can be a little sporadic during this time. I’ve learned the key is layering and investing in pieces that can taken from one season to the next, and always find what I need at Backcountry!

For the past few years, I have purchased all my outerwear at Backcountry. They have SO many options when it comes to boots, jackets, scarves, hats and even fashionable lifestyle pieces that can be worn everyday! Backcountry carries all of my favorite brands, from Patagonia and North Face to Free People and Sorel. This makes layering up for chilly weather easy, practical and fashionable!

We live just minutes away from the mountains and have been doing a bit of exploring this fall. Each time we head out for a little weekend day date, I’ve been layering up as I never know where we are going to end up! Last weekend, we had plans to get lunch and do a little shopping in the the nearby town of Leavenworth, but ended up taking the scenic route and stopping to explore. We discovered a bridge that led to a hiking path and couldn’t stop ourselves from heading up the mountain!

In that moment, I was so thankful I was wearing my Patagonia Prairie Dawn Insulated Parka. I was drawn to this jacket for the color and longer length. I ended up being even more surprised by how warm and cozy it is! It’s sherpa lined and made of durable canvas. It’s great for everyday, or an outdoor adventure.

I had thoughtfully topped off my outfit with warm accessories before leaving, because I knew we could end up spending some time outside. It’s rare that I leave the house this time of year without a beanie, and this Columbia Winter Blur Pom Pom Beanie is cute AND warm. Lined with micro-fleece, this is an extremely cozy and practical option. My Pistil Bray Scarf would make a great gift for anyone living in a cold climate. It’s another practical piece, but the print is so much fun and brightens up any neutral outfit.

Sorel boots are a MUST for anyone ready to take on ice and snow in the winter. I got the Sorel Joan of Arctic Wedge II Shearling Boot last year and was so impressed, I ended up purchasing the Sorel Joan of Arctic Wedge II Cozy Boot this year. While these are wedge boots, they are extremely comfortable, easy to walk in, warm and toasty AND have amazing traction! We had multiple ice storms last year and I never had any issues getting around in my Sorel’s! During this outing, I had to balance on logs and climb over rocks. I had no trouble maneuvering over the terrain!

My sweater and jeans are both Free People pieces found at Backcountry! I was so excited to discover one of my all time favorite brands and that I could make Backcountry a one stop shop for my fall and winter layering needs! The Free People Angelic Pullover is the coziest oversized sweater. I size down in this brand because it runs oversized. This sweater is long enough to wear with leggings, which I love! My jeans are the Free People Raw High Rise Jegging, and so comfortable! Unlike the sweater, these run a bit small, so size up!

Backcountry is generously offering all Twenties Girl Style readers 15% off their order with code ASHLEY15 at checkout! Discount is valid on your first Backcountry purchase, exclusions apply.

10. Chenille Leggings

I was so excited to see these chenille leggings back in stock this year! I purchased these last year and have lived in them since purchasing. When I saw them back in stock, I ordered them in the other colors (there are 3 total). They are AMAZING and probably the softest thing I have ever owned!

9. Camo Hooded Teddy

Sherpa and fleece jackets are all the rage this season. This camo option is so unique and the under $40 price tag can’t be beat! It’s oversized and has a hood and is warm enough for the frigid January temperatures ahead!

8. Sherpa Lined Parka

In need of a new coat this winter? This one was a top seller last month and it’s no wonder why! It comes in a few different colors, is lined with sherpa and currently on sale for $100! I love the fit of this one! It does run slightly large. I am wearing an XS and can still layer chunky knits underneath!

7. Sherpa Pullover

Another Amazon Prime find, this sherpa pullover is under $30! It comes in a few different color options, and I want them all! This one runs true to size and is great quality for the price! Plus, it’s SUPER soft!

6. Embellished Sweater

Another one of my favorites from last year. This sweater has a perfectly oversized fit and the prettiest embellished detailing.

5. Sperry Boots

I was in desperate need of some new winter boots this year and ended up buying a few pairs. My favorite pair? These Sperry boots. I’ve been eyeing them for a few years and finally bought them this year and am so happy I did! These are SO comfortable and waterproof.

4. Double Pom Beanie

Double pom beanies have been my jam lately! This one is fleece lined and comes in a ton of colors. Plus it’s under $20!

3. Pom Sleeve Cardigan

This pom sweater gives me all the cozy feels. This chunky knit sweater is beyond warm and I love the unique pom detailing on the sleeves. This color was by far my favorite this far and I am excited to bring it into winter with me!

2. Pom Beanie

I own this faux fur pom beanie in a few different colors, but the pink is my fave! Beanies are one of my most worn accessories this time of year. I love that they double as a cute winter accessory and a way to mask dirty hair!

This sherpa vest was the top seller in the month of November! With an under $35 price tag, it’s a steal and the perfect dupe of a much pricier option! If you are looking for a last minute gift, this vest is a perfect option and available with two day shipping via Amazon prime!
